I love assembling dinners that merge flavor and simplicity. My Honey Garlic Shrimp, Sausage, and Broccoli recipe combines succulent shrimp, smoky sausage, and crisp broccoli with minced garlic, honey, and soy sauce. This fits perfectly within my Quick Weekday Meals repertoire. It is a savory choice to brighten evening.
I’ve been experimenting in the kitchen lately and this Honey Garlic Shrimp & Sausage dish quickly became one of my favorites. If you’re like me and love a meal that’s both sweet and savory, this one pan wonder is sure to impress.
I used 1 lb of large shrimp, and paired it with some 1/2 lb of smoked sausage, broccoli florets, and garlic cloves for that aromatic kick. The dish is brought together with a smooth blend of honey and low sodium soy sauce, with just a drizzle of olive oil and a touch of optional red pepper flakes to brighten things up.
I really love that its simplicity works wonders whether you’re cooking for one, two, or even trying out a budget dinner idea. It’s straightforward, filling, and a great way to have a healthy shrimp dish loaded with flavor in no time.
Enjoy making it as much as i did!
Why I Like this Recipe
I love how the sweetness of the honey mixes with garlic to give the dish an awesome flavor that really pops. I also like that it only uses one pan, so I dont gotta worry about a huge mess of dishes afterwards. The combo of shrimp and sausage makes every bite interesting and gives me plenty of protein, which is perfect when im super hungry. Lastly, the broccoli adds a nice crunch and makes the dish feel a bit healthier, even though its still super flavorful.

FAQ
Honey Garlic Shrimp & Sausage – Easy One Recipe Substitutions and Variations
- For the shrimp, you could use chicken breast pieces or even firm tofu if you want a twist
- If you don’t have smoked sausage, kielbasa or chorizo can work well as substitutes
- You may replace broccoli with cauliflower florets or even green beans if that’s what you got
- If you’re out of honey, maple syrup can be a good alternative even though it’ll change the flavor a bit
- Instead of low sodium soy sauce, try tamari or coconut aminos for a similar taste
Pro Tips
1. Make sure not to overcrowd your pan when browning the sausage so that it really gets that nice crisp and doesn’t just steam in its own juices
2. Keep a close eye on the garlic so it doesn’t burn; burnt garlic can really ruin the overall flavor, trust me, I’ve done that before
3. If you want a thicker sauce, add the cornstarch mixture slowly and let it simmer just a little longer; that way everything gets a more even and glossy coat
4. Adjust the heat to your liking by adding more or less red pepper flakes. It’s easy to overdo it, so taste as you go and keep it balanced
